About Me

Hi, I’m Duong Truong — a freelance DOP & Colorist based in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

My journey with visual storytelling started early — back in middle school when I first picked up a Canon 600D camera. That camera sparked something in me; it gave me the freedom to capture the world as I saw it and opened the door to creative expression. Thanks to those early experiments, I was fortunate enough to win some photography awards and have my work exhibited in the city — moments that gave me the confidence to dream even bigger.

Over time, I realized I didn’t just want to freeze a moment in a still frame. I wanted to bring images to life — to let them move, breathe, and tell deeper stories. That passion naturally evolved into my exploration of cinematography and filmmaking, where I could merge technical precision with emotional storytelling.

With a background in Graphic Design & Interactive Media, I’ve always seen moving pictures as more than just visuals — they’re powerful tools to inspire, empower, and connect with people on a deeper level. That belief fuels the way I approach my work: with intention, passion, and an uncompromising eye for detail.

Over the past 5+ years, I’ve had the privilege to work as a Director of Photography and Colorist across a range of formats — from commercial ads and music videos to short films and digital content. Whether I’m collaborating with local teams or international crews, I bring a versatile, adaptable mindset to every set.

For me, every project is a chance to transform meaningful stories into visual experiences that can inspire and connect with people.
